Bulabog Beach is on the east, windward side of Boracay, a small island in the central Philippines. During the Amihan, the northeast monsoon from about November to April, the wind blows onshore across a bay protected by a reef, giving flat to choppy water inside.
The bay is shallow with a sandy bottom and patches of reef, so watch the depth and wear booties. Because the area is busy with kitesurfers, windsurfers and other water users, riding zones are organised, so follow the local rules and the advice of the schools. The reef protects the bay from the open sea, but currents can be stronger near the reef gaps. The water is warm all year. Outside the Amihan season, the southwest monsoon brings lighter, more variable wind on this side of the island.
