Las Flores is a beach in the department of San Miguel, in eastern El Salvador, close to the village of El Cuco and about three hours' drive from San Salvador. A rocky point at one end of the beach produces a right-hand wave that runs along a sand and rock bottom.
The wave needs south and south-west swell, which is most consistent from March to October. On medium swells it gives long, fast walls, and on bigger days it becomes hollow and more powerful. Northerly and north-easterly land breezes are offshore in the mornings, while the afternoon sea breeze often makes it bumpy. It suits intermediate and advanced surfers; on small days the inside sections are easier. Other point and beach breaks lie along this coast, including Punta Mango, which is reached by boat or a long track. The area is less developed than La Libertad, so the line-up is usually smaller, but it still gets busy on good swells. The water is warm all year.
