Rangiputa is a small settlement on the Karikari Peninsula, in New Zealand's Northland region. The bay has white sand and clear, flat water, which makes it an excellent place for learning and freeriding.
The peninsula has spots for most wind directions, so riders can usually find somewhere that works. Winter, roughly June to August, is often the most reliable season for wind. The bottom is sandy and the water is shallow near shore, so foilers should watch their depth. Facilities are limited, so bring what you need. The water is cool for much of the year, so a wetsuit is usually needed. Ask locals about the best spots for the day's wind direction.
