The Pointe aux Oies is a low headland and beach just north of the seaside town of Wimereux, on the Côte d'Opale between Boulogne-sur-Mer and the bay of Wissant. Local riders use it as an alternative to Wissant: the beach faces west into the Channel, so the common south-westerly winds blow cross-onshore here and bring chop and waves, while westerly and north-easterly winds also work. It suits confident riders more than beginners, and the beach is also known to surfers when a swell comes up the Channel.

The tide decides the session. From low to mid tide there is a wide sandy beach to launch from, with rocks towards the point; at high tide the beach almost disappears and the waves break against the sea wall, so most riders avoid it then. Access is from the car park at the Pointe aux Oies, with steps down to the beach. The water is cold for most of the year, so a full wetsuit is needed, and spring and autumn bring the most reliable wind.
