Barrinha is a small village in the municipality of Cajueiro da Praia on the Piauí coast, a few kilometres east of Barra Grande, which puts it upwind in the prevailing east to north-east trade winds. Riders staying in Barra Grande come here in the morning: Barra Grande sits behind some cover until the wind turns around late morning, while Barrinha already gets clean wind earlier. The season runs from about July to the end of the year.

Like Barra Grande, the spot changes with the tide. At low tide shallow pools and sandbanks give flat water, and at high tide it becomes a more open, choppy beach.
